Our Commitment
Relief Radar respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
- Account info: name, email, password (hashed), and optional profile photo.
- Content you create: relief posts, messages, photos, and locations you choose to share.
- Location data: only when you choose to attach it to a post — and you can fuzz it (5 km / 25 km / 100 km) for privacy.
- Technical data: standard server logs (IP, user-agent, timestamps) for security and debugging.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate the Service: showing relief needs near you, enabling messaging between users, processing donations, moderating posts, and improving the platform. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Donations
Donation processing is handled by third-party providers (e.g., Zeffy). Their privacy policies govern the handling of payment details. Relief Radar does not store your full payment information.
4. Sharing
Public relief posts and your display name are visible to anyone using Relief Radar. Direct messages are visible only to you and the recipient. We may share data when legally required.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. You can clear these at any time through your browser settings.
6. Your Choices
- Edit your profile or change your password from Profile Settings.
- Delete your account and associated data from the same screen.
- Choose how precisely your location is shared on each post you create.
7. Children
Relief Radar is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes
We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated through the platform.
